On this apprenticeship, you’ll advance your skills and knowledge to develop your career in:

  • manufacturing
  • transportation
  • the energy-supply and sustainable-energy industries.

You’ll develop in-depth practical engineering skills and have the opportunity to apply them in the context of newer technologies. These include additive layer manufacture and multi-axis machining. You’ll develop transferable, high-value skills in research, design and engineering analysis. 

Teaching methods will include online study through our study portal, as well as learning on campus at Sussex. You’ll have the opportunity to use our manufacturing facilities. As an apprentice, you’ll be registered as a University of Sussex student and have access to our:

This course is mapped to the IfATE-standard Post Graduate Engineer degree apprenticeship. As an apprentice, you’ll spend 20% of your paid working hours in protected learning time, ensuring minimal disruption.

This course is currently subject to validation, in line with our procedures for assuring the quality of our degrees. This means that some course detail and content may change as we develop this new course. The validation process will be finished before your course starts. Check back in April 2024 for details on modules.
