The aim of this module is to introduce you to project management – as a concept, a practice, a skill and a key management resource in achieving organisational strategy and implementing change in organisations. Project management is a vital component in the toolkit of graduates, managers and leaders, and can be deployed across multiple sectors to achieve a wide range of organisational goals. This module focuses on planning and implementing projects that impact organisations, their strategic goals and their operations through business technologies. It also equips you with core knowledge about business technologies, which feature in a majority of graduate roles, along with confidence and skills to learn about these when you encounter them.

Module learning outcomes

  • Apply appropriate project management concepts, techniques and methods in a variety of organizational contexts, incorporating business technologies.
  • Develop, critically evaluate, propose and implement solutions to organisational challenges and opportunities utilising project management techniques and knowledge of business technologies.
  • Comprehend the competencies, skills and knowledge required by a project leader and project team members to deliver projects on time, within budget and with intended quality.
  • Communicate and present project information to various audiences.
