What is digital transformation, why is innovation essential for business, and how can information and communications technology enhance organisational performance? This module will address these questions and will explore the managerial issues and the factors associated with business management in the context of digital transformation. Various topics will be covered in this module, including the digital trend, the role of technologies in business innovation, e-commerce and mobile commerce, IT strategies, and digital transformation for sustainability. The theoretical knowledge will be put into practice and consolidated through group project and individual essay.

  • Systematically understand the role of digital technologies in the business process and key aspects of digital transformation.
  • Determine coherent knowledge on how to effectively collaborate and communicate the role of digital technologies in enabling digital transformation with different audiences.
  • Critically evaluate key management challenges in the context of digital transformation and develop strategies for organisations to integrate new digital technologies for successful change.
  • Systematically understand key aspects of the adoption and implementation of different digital technologies that enable organisations to digitally transform their business processes.
