Module learning outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of current issues, debates and insights relating to the lives of disabled children and young people
- Awareness of different theoretical approaches to disability and an understanding of disabled childhoods, from a wide range of perspectives, including educational, health, social care, policy and legal perspectives.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of factors contributing to the cognitive, social and emotional development of children and young people and to their well-being. In addition the module will enable you to develop the following skills: o Communicate effectively, clearly and fluently by written, oral and visual means, making effective use of new and established learning technologies. o Demonstrate ability to participate in collaborative working and present to the rest of the group.
