Feminist philosophy covers a range of issues.

At the applied end, it is concerned with issues of particular political relevance to women, such as discrimination and equality, and ethical issues surrounding reproduction.

At the more abstract end, it is concerned with whether Western philosophical approaches and conclusions are themselves a product of patriarchy. 

In this module, you explore such themes.

Module learning outcomes

  • Display knowledge of various clasic feminist philosophical texts.
  • Be able to distinguish between various conceptions of equality.
  • Critically engage with various ethical and political debates of particular relevance to women.
