Network Analysis with Gephi
Wednesday 2 July 14:00 until 16:00
University of Sussex Campus : Sussex Humanities Lab (opposite SB211) Silverstone Building
Speaker: Ben Roberts
Part of the series: Digital Methods Accelerator Summer Camp

In the humanities and social sciences, network analysis has been used to visualise relationships and interactions in everything from sixteenth-century letter writers, through characters in literary texts to contemporary social media. This workshop, led by Ben Roberts, Associate Professor in Digital Humanities, will introduce Gephi as a way of visualising networks. We will also look at some examples of how network analysis has been used to undertake research in humanities disciplines such as history, literature and media studies. You will need to bring a laptop computer (Windows/Mac/Linux) to the workshop.
The workshop is open to Sussex researchers at all levels - please register using your @sussex.ac.uk email address. Refreshments will be provided.
This workshop is part of The Digital Methods Accelerator (DMA) Summer Camp 2025, a series of in-person taster workshops 30 June-3 July aimed at Social Sciences and Humanities researchers at all levels wanting to explore and skill up on digital methods for their research. The DMA Summer Camp will cover the whole research data lifecycle with sessions planned on each stage of the cycle.
