The aim of this module is to develop subject-specific academic practices so that you are equipped to communicate, create and research effectively in your subject discipline. It will also develop your transferable skills for life beyond Sussex.

The academic practices and skills you develop include:

  • recognising and producing a line of argumentation
  • referencing and academic integrity
  • critical reading/listening and note-taking
  • effective literature/source searching
  • presenting.
