On this module, you'll cover the psychological aspects and consequences of the main familial relationships:

• marital
• mother-child
• father-child,
• sibling.

In particular, individual, dyadic, family, and cultural-level factors influencing the development and functioning of these familial relationships will be covered,along with their consequences.

The impact of non-traditional family forms (such as single-parent and stepfamilies) on children's development is also discussed.

• Demonstrate knowledge of the factors influencing multiple family relationships, and their consequences.
• Apply different theoretical approaches to the study of family phenomena.
• Critically evaluate substantive empirical research within family psychology.
