Sussex School for Progressive Futures Scholarships (2026)

To mark the launch of our new University strategy – 'Sussex 2035: Creating Progressive Futures' and to celebrate the establishment of the Sussex School for Progressive Futures, we are delighted to announce a new programme of scholarships for selected taught masters courses. These courses embody our transformational interdisciplinary themes of digital and data futures, environmental sustainability, and human flourishing. Our Progressive Futures Scholars will play a vital part in realising our vision of creating flourishing, sustainability and progress for the whole world.

  • Who is eligible

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

    • Be taking up a place on an eligible Masters degree, starting September 2026
    • Be self-financing
    • Have exceptional academic grades (see 'Qualifications advice' for indication of minimum grades required; this does not include all accepted qualifications and is instead intended as guidance)

    Four year Bachelor's degree with GPA 3.5 or higher

    Category 1 HEI: GPA of 3.3/4 or 85% or Grade of B+. All other HEIs: GPA of 3.7 or 90% or Grade A- (or higher)

  • Who isn’t eligible

    You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:

    • Are applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
    • Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex
    • Are studying an online course

How to apply

Applicants need an offer of a place on an eligible Masters before they can apply for the scholarship. As this is a selective scholarship, applicants need excellent grades/predicted grades to be considered.

Terms and conditions

As this scholarship celebrates excellence, it is possible to combine this with the Chancellor's International Scholarship or Chancellor's Masters Scholarship. If the value of both scholarships exceeds the full tuition fee, then any remainder will be paid as cash maintenance once scholars are registered.
