Research

The Social Science and Ethics Research Group focuses on three key areas and their shared relevance:

  • The Empirical study of Ethics - Encompassing anthropological and sociological studies of local conceptions of the good, norms, and everyday ethical decision making as well as recent work in social psychology and empirical philosophy.
  • Metaethics - Incorporating questions regarding the nature of ethics and value and their relationship to action.
  • The Ethics of Research - Engaging with ongoing debates over the suitability of ethical review, the limits of objectivity, and ethical controversies.
