Engineering In this event Dr Mark Puttock-Brown (Engineering Admissions Tutor) and Mr Harri Koivisto will show you what it means to be and Engineer and what it is like to be an Engineering student here at Sussex. You'll see some of our exciting research and the projects that our undergraduate students have worked on. This session will be broadcast live from our on-site studio and followed by a Q&A session on Zoom. Subject specialists will be happy to answer your questions and talk more about the degree. |

Engineering taster lecture
This taster video is an extract from the introductory lecture in the first year module Engineering Thermodynamics delivered by Dr Esra Sorguven earlier this year. The session starts with what Thermodynamics is all about and finishes by looking at the third and zeroth laws. Please note, the video will feature a cut at about 8 minutes where module housekeeping has been skipped to keep the content focused and as this is part of a longer 2-hour lecture, this taster has be shorten to 30 minutes and so has an abupt ending.

Mechanical Engineering at Sussex
In this video Dr Christopher Long, Reader in Mechanical Engineering explores what it means to be an engineer, how engineering impacts our daily lives and the structure of the Mechanical, Automotive and Mechanical with Robotics Engineering Programmes at Sussex. You will also see an overview of our teaching and research facilities, career prospects and the industrial placement year. Finally, Dr Long will share his experience of why he chose to become an Engineer.
Department of Engineering and Design Tour
