Undergraduate Open Days

Our Open Days are the best way to get a taste of life at Sussex. You’ll learn more about our courses, have the opportunity to chat to current students and meet the academics you’ll be learning from.

Our on-campus Open Days are taking place on:

  • Saturday 15 June 2024
  • Saturday 5 October 2024
  • Saturday 19 October 2024

Book your place on an on-campus Open Day

Our Open Days run from 9am to 3.30pm. We will send you a programme of the day’s events in the weeks leading up to the Open Day to help you plan and prioritise the events that interest you the most.

At an Open Day you can:

  • meet the academics you’ll be learning from to find out more about your subject of interest
  • talk to current students about life at Sussex and in Brighton
  • get practical advice from our expert staff to make your application to Sussex stand out
  • hear from our teams in Admissions, Student Support, Careers, Housing, Student Finance, Study Abroad, Placements and Careers and Employability.
  • explore our beautiful campus on a guided tour and check out our facilities and accommodation options
  • attend a dedicated session for mature students.

Travel options

Our campus is well connected by public transport, including buses and trains. If you choose to travel to our June Open Day by public transport, we’ll plant a tree as part of our sustainability mission – find out more below.

If you’re driving, we have a limited number of parking spaces on campus. Please let us know if you need a space when booking your Open Day place and we will send you a permit in advance, on a first come, first served basis. Once parking is full, you won’t see this option available on our booking form.

Choose public transport and we’ll plant a tree

We’re delighted to team up with recent Sussex graduates Trees for Trips on our Root to Sussex project to plant a tree for each visitor who travels to our June Open Day in 2024 by public transport.

How to get involved:

  • book your place on our June Open Day and select public transport on our booking form
  • make sure you tell us that you have arrived on the day and where from by following the instructions in our Open Day reminder communications nearer the time
  • your tree will be planted in the surrounding Sussex target areas and we’ll tell you the location.

We pride ourselves on our mission of becoming one of the most sustainable universities in the world. We’d love you to become part of our story by reducing your carbon emissions and your environmental impact when visiting us at our June Open Day in 2024.

Campus accessibility

Open Days can be busy events. We want your visit to be safe and enjoyable, so here is some accessibility information to help you prepare for your visit.

You can also visit the Student Centre and speak with members of the Student Support and Disability Advice and Guidance teams throughout the day to hear about the information and support available to students.

Disabled parking

When you book your place you can let us know your access requirements, including parking. When you arrive on campus you will need to display your blue badge. You will then be directed to one of our disabled parking spaces, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis on the day.

Making your way around campus

All rooms and lecture theatres used on Open Days have wheelchair access. There are accessible toilets available from all of our locations on-campus.

All of our lecture theatres and rooms have a floor plan with exit routes and assistance points. If you have any questions about the routes you can ask a member of staff and they will be happy to help.

To find out about accessible campus tours, head to the campus tour departure point and a member of staff or student ambassador will be happy to help.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome on campus.

Quiet spaces on campus

Our campus has lots of open space where you can get away from the crowds. At every Open Day there will be an allocated quiet room if you need to take some time out. Just check the event programme for details.
