Before Sussex: Widening Participation support

Visit the Transition to Sussex page to find out about the events and support on offer for 2025 Sussex offer holders. As part of this, on Wednesday 25 June 2025 the Widening Participation team will be a running an event for contextual and mature offer holders. The day is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to thrive at university. Book your place now.

During our information sessions, you will:

  • learn more about support we offer to mature students
  • find out about welfare and finances
  • get tips for your personal statement
  • go on a guided campus tour.

These session typically last two hours and refreshments are provided.

Our last mature information session was delivered in May and our new programme of events will launch in September. If you'd like more information on applying to Sussex as a mature student, email inspires@sussex.ac.uk.

1:1 UCAS personal statement support

Book a 1:1 appointment with a member of our Widening Participation team to get support and advice on your personal statement. We're offering 20 minute 1:1’s to mature students looking to apply to Sussex. During your appointment you can ask questions and get guidance on the structure and content of your personal statement. You'll also need to bring a draft written copy of your personal statement to this session.
