Free lunches for new students
Find out how you can enjoy free lunches for your first term at Sussex if you’re a new Undergraduate student from a lower income household.

Lunch is on us
University is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but we know managing your money can be a challenge.
That’s why we’re providing free lunches for new UK Undergraduate students joining us in Autumn 2026 who come from a family income background of less than £35,000.
If eligible, you can enjoy the Sussex Saver meal (served in Eat Central) for free on each weekday of your first term at Sussex.
Settle into Sussex life by dining with new friends or taking some time for yourself after class.
To receive this offer, your household income must be validated by Student Finance England, Student Awards Agency for Scotland or Student Finance NI.
New home Undergraduate students who qualify for free lunches will also receive the Sussex Bursary.
