Cycle maintenance session
Cycle Maintenance Session!
Keeping your bike in good working order doesn’t have to be complicated! This Basic Cycle Maintenance session is designed to give you the essential knowledge and hands-on skills to look after your bike with confidence.
Over the course, you’ll learn how to carry out simple checks and routine maintenance to keep your bike running smoothly and safely. We’ll cover everything from cleaning and lubrication to fixing punctures, repairing or replacing a chain, and changing brake and gear cables. You’ll also learn how to make minor adjustments to your gears and brakes to improve performance and extend the life of your components.
Whether you’re a daily commuter, a weekend rider, or just getting back into cycling, this course will help you understand how your bike works and how to keep it in top condition. By the end, you’ll be able to handle common issues yourself — saving money on repairs and giving you the peace of mind to enjoy every ride.
The £20 covers the cost of the two-hour course and it will contribute towards our non-profit partnership too and you can book it by emailing Monika Farkas on m.farkas@sussex.ac.uk or simply pop in to the Travel Hub at the Arches and pay by card there.
There is a min number of participants of 4, so we let you know in case we need to take your booking to another date in the future.
