The Cue; Conducting the Neuronal Ensembles that Orchestrate Food Seeking
Thursday 9 October 15:30 until 17:30
University of Sussex Campus
Speaker: A Professorial Lecture by Eisuke Koya
Part of the series: My Psychology: A University of Sussex Talk Series

In this talk, Professor Eisuke Koya will discuss the brain's remarkable ability to respond to food-associated stimuli or "cues" that trigger food-seeking behaviour.
Discover how specialised groups of brain cells, known as "neuronal ensembles", are activated by food cues and shape our learned responses through Pavlovian conditioning. From their historical discovery to modern neuroscience techniques, Professor Koya will highlight how these ensembles are identified and manipulated.
He will explain how the properties of neuronal ensembles can shift when the meaning of food cues changes and how sex differences influence their function.
Join us for a fascinating journey into the orchestration of food-seeking through neuronal ensembles. Gain fresh insights into what is happening in the brain the next time you are tempted by the smell of something delicious
