Dr Silvina Silva Aras is working on the design of two research projects.

One is an animated short film about precursors from the Global South practising decolonial perspectives and decolonising the curriculum since the second half of the twentieth century.

The other is a long-term project about the language and regional barriers to transnational/global exchanges on the field of Race and Racism from the last decades. Considering experiences from the past where congresses, cultural encounters and dialogues about Race and Racism were common among representatives from the Third World and even from Europe (since mid 19th century until mid 80’s). Currently, different languages and local specificities prevent from global/international discussions on the subject. This project aims to understand how and why those barriers were built and how would it be possible to re-establish a transnational conversation about Race and Racism, challenging discrimination in a collective form. This is part of an extension from Silvina's PhD research about racism in France from a sensorial perspective.
