The University of Sussex Business School has reaffirmed its position among the world’s leading business schools after achieving EQUIS re-accreditation for a further three years in 2025.
Awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), EQUIS is one of the most prestigious international accreditations for business and management education. It recognises schools with excellence across teaching, research, and societal impact through a rigorous peer-review process that demonstrates sustained commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
The University of Sussex Business School was one of nine institutions worldwide to renew its EQUIS accreditation in 2025, alongside leading business schools in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Poland and the UK.

The EQUIS Peer Review Team commended the School on its dedication to continuous improvement and noted its applaudable efforts towards internationalisation in all aspects of its operations, including research, staff profile and student body. The Accreditation Board also commended the School on the quality of its research and research funding.
The University of Sussex Business School is home to globally recognised research centres, the UK Trade Policy Observatory (UKTPO), The Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy, The Bennett Institute for Innovation and Policy Acceleration, and Digital Futures at Work (DIGIT).
In 2025, the University of Sussex Business School is ranked:
- 2nd in the UK for Career prospects in Marketing and 8th in the UK for Marketing (The Guardian University Guide 2026)
- Top 15 in the UK, 104th in the World for Economics and Business (US News and World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2025-26)
- 1st in the UK for annual research income (Chartered Association of Business Schools, 2025)
