Professor Benjamin K. Sovacool, Director of the Bennett Institute for Innovation and Policy Acceleration at the Business School, has been appointed as a member of a new advisory panel supporting the UK Government’s Clean Power Mission.
The panel will help the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero plan how to deliver a fully low-carbon electricity system by 2035. It brings together experts in energy, behaviour, and policy to make sure government decisions are guided by strong evidence and up-to-date research.
Speaking about the appointment, Professor Sovacool said:
“I am delighted to be part of such a prestigious Council which highlights the importance the Government has placed on engaging with a broad evidence base in formulating its policies for a clean power future and transition to a net zero economy.”
The Clean Power Mission is part of a larger government programme focused on speeding up the development of low-carbon technologies.
The Bennett Institute for Innovation & Policy Acceleration, based within the Business School continues to link University research with policy. It helps us shape fair climate solutions through collaboration and real-world impact.
