Guaranteed accommodation at Sussex

For the academic year 2016/17, you are guaranteed a place in University-managed housing if you are:

  • a full-time, first-year undergraduate student applying through UCAS for September 2016. You must firmly accept our offer
  • a full-time, first-year postgraduate student studying a research degree. You must be studying for a full academic year
  • a student from outside the European Union studying a taught Masters. 

You will receive the online housing application from February 2016. You must apply by 1 August, and postgraduates must also pay the £250 pre-payment by 1 August.

You can live in one of our student houses in Brighton & Hove. This means that your bills and internet are included in your rent. Your bedroom and shared rooms are fully furnished, and you don't need to pay a deposit or provide a guarantor. All of our off-campus houses are in residential areas of Brighton or Hove, with good transport links to the University by bus or train.

Want to find your own off-campus accommodation?

If you want to live off campus in privately rented housing, we will help you to find accommodation from a private landlord. We can provide essential advice and support to help you. We offer one-to-one advice, will read and check your tenancy agreement for you, and will answer any questions you might have. We also provide useful resources, see our Sussex Studentpad.
