Module code: P4130
Level 4
30 credits in spring semester
Teaching method: Lecture, Seminar, Workshop
Assessment modes: Portfolio, Media
On this module, you’ll develop essential media analysis skills.
Each week you’ll consider different media objects from a range of contexts and industries (for example a piece of code, an AI-generated text, a digital photograph, a podcast, a TV show, a social media post, a videogame) to understand the ways in which such media objects can be:
- interpreted
- socio-technically structured
- assessed.
This module addresses the concept of ‘mediation’ through instances from the contemporary world and direct engagement with media environments. You’ll have the chance to analyse and engage with a media object of your choice.
