Postgraduate placements
We offer postgraduate students the opportunity to undertake a research placement. This option enables you to volunteer with an organisation while also conducting primary research for your dissertation. It's an excellent way to gain practical, hands-on experience in your chosen field of study.
You'll be encouraged to find a placement yourself as the placement organisation has to be linked with your dissertation topic. You can complete your research dissertation by working with an organisation—either in-office or on a project—while collecting primary data. A minimum six-week placement is required to allow time for writing, though longer stays are permitted if writing time is considered.
Through the placement, you'll develop:
- valuable employability skills
- in-depth knowledge of your chosen subject
- relevant experience
- the opportunity to apply classroom learning to real-world professional settings.
