Tactile Graphics for Reading Comprehension

Overview

In this research, the teams from the Informatics Department and School of Psychology unite efforts to investigate ways to support reading comprehension on people with visual impairment. We use tactile graphics to test new conventions on how to represent different kinds of infomration that one could encounter within narratives.

We hope to find out whether our proposed conventions are useful to people with visual impairment to improve their comprehension of narratives.

We are looking for participants for our project. If you are interested in participating, please contact us at tactilegraphics@sussex.ac.uk.
