In our constant strive to reduce food waste here at SussexFood, we have been strengthening our ties with Too Good To Go and adding more offers onto their food rescuing platform. Some of these offers have been in place for over a year whilst others have been trialled for a matter of weeks and we can’t wait to keep pushing forwards with them. These sites will be launched again in the new term, so ensure you download the app in preparation for fantastic September food deals.
There are restaurants salvaging food from going to waste and offering it to you at a discounted price all around Brighton – we’d encourage you to use the Too Good To Go app to save a bit of money when you fancy treating yourself to a meal out, in addition to saving food from going to landfill across the Summer. There’s not much that beats a stroll back from a day of beaching and collecting a high quality, low cost meal that would have otherwise gone to waste from a local eatery!
Sites that will be up on Too Good To Go in the new term:
Eat Central: Breakfast, Veggie Breakfast, Evening Meal, Vegetarian Evening Meal and Baguettes
Dhaba: Vegetarian Lunch
The Bridge: Lunch
ACCA Café: Vegetarian and Vegan Lunch
These will be back in full effect after the Summer and Summer Schools period.
If you want to look at other ways to reduce food waste. We have a page on our website that gives you a meal plan guide, recipes and other personal tips for more sustainable buying, cooking and eating. Tips include freezing food, using leftovers to make delicious meals and conscious buying ideas.
