During my undergraduate years, I have especially recognized the need to integrate race, gender, and sexuality equality perspective when working on different development issues in educational settings. And this led me to study at the University of Sussex, which is renowned for its number 1 ranking in Development Studies with a strong tradition and supportive environment. Especially, qualified faculties and their curriculum of the program were enough to attain my attention.

Blessed with the staff, departments and programmes, I also feel grateful that I have all my classmates from all kinds of different backgrounds. All our different ethnicities, national identities, cultural backgrounds and even areas of previous expertise or experience levels have enabled diverse approaches with more sources of inspiration and knowledge to draw from.

In this diverse learning environment, I feel that my contributions to the program are meaningful and that I am happy in class. Another favourite part of my course is the quality of the faculties and how they care about their students. They give their attention to every student. This really helps encourage students’ confidence, especially when you are an international student from another country.

Through an MA in International Education and Development, I look forward to deepening my understanding of education from a gender equality perspective and become a specialist in education development. I believe studying at University of Sussex will be a strong professional stepping-stone to change people’s thoughts and children’s own attitudes to their lives.
