I came to Sussex to equip myself with the various development theories and practices so that I can integrate my experience with the knowledge better in the field of development. I had worked in an NGO for 6 years and I knew that the University of Sussex was internationally recognized as No.1 in the world.

Before I came to Sussex, I had some friends who had already done a postgraduate course and they seemed very happy and satisfied with their experience. So many friends and colleagues recommended the programs at Sussex and that is, among many, one of the biggest reasons I decided to come to Sussex. Now I understand why my friends told me so!

Every day I was fascinated by the expertise of the professors and the diversity – 25 different nationalities in the classroom! My course-mates were very supportive academically and personally. I probably would not have finished the course without my fellow students’ enormous support.

It was also a great joy to serve as a student rep. I feel like I am more engaged, and I could get a better sense of what is going on in school and how the university is trying to hear and act upon the students’ voices. I had the best uni life with the most amazing people in the most beautiful and lively city, Brighton.

After graduating from Sussex, I will continue to work in the development field. I haven’t started looking for a job yet at the moment, but I am confident that my degree and experience at Sussex will be a huge appeal in the job market. I already feel that coming to Sussex has been the best investment I have ever made for the future!
