MA in Environment, Development and Policy – career prospects
Last year’s group from the MA in Environment, Development and Policy gives us a flavour of the kind of career our graduates can have. The students got in touch with each other a few months after graduating to share what they are all doing. It is an impressive picture:
• Kate works as a technical director for Sky News in London.
• Ulrich works as a consultant and project manager for DFS Deutsche Forstservice GmbH in Munich, Germany.
• Aya works as a programme associate for a joint programme between the United Nations University, Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) and the Ministry of the Environment, Japan.
• Carolina works in Mexico on The Gulf of Mexico Large Marine Ecosystem Project
• Naomi works for the Ministry of the Environment in Tokyo, Japan. Naomi is involved and coordinates the process of drafting of the biodiversity conservation law.
• Emily works as an independent consultant in sustainable agriculture in the UK.
• Melanié works as an intern for an organisation involved in biodiversity conservation in Vietnam.
• Macarena and Isabel successfully secured necessary funding and at the moment are working on a biodiversity conservation project in Galapagos, Ecuador.
• Leonardo works as a volunteer for an environmental NGO in Curitiba, Brazil.
• Inés works for the UNDP in Ethiopia
• Frederik works for GFA Consulting in Berlin, Germany (works on bilateral projects between Germany and countries from Central Asia, Africa and Latin America).
• Erin works as a temp for an association for epidemiology professionals in Washington DC, USA.
• Peter has secured ESRC funding to pursue doctoral research on private conservation in Brazil
