Autumn and spring teaching

On this final year module you address an historical problem in depth, setting your own research project and questions.

You will:

  • resolve these questions through a module on designing a research outline
  • carry out your own research based on primary historical sources
  • develop the skills necessary to write an extended piece of written work based on this (usually archival) research.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 24 hours of contact time and about 276 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
