Spring teaching
This module systematically analyses advanced econometric techniques with a focus on causal inference, equipping you with the tools necessary for applied empirical research in economics.
Key topics include;
- qualitative response models
- panel-data estimation
- synthetic control methods
- regression discontinuity and propensity score techniques.
Emphasis is placed on practical application, preparing you to handle real-world data and solve empirical research challenges using these econometric methods.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 44 hours of contact time and about 106 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
