Autumn teaching

This module covers the basic techniques of modern econometrics, making use of applied studies to illustrate the material, particularly from the fields of development and international economics.

You are also introduced to the analysis of data sets using the STATA software package, and the interpretation of the resulting output. The emphasis is upon the appropriate application of econometrics to practical problems arising in economics.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 44 hours of contact time and about 106 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology.
