What is it to lie, and why does it matter? Join our panel of experts for a diverse discussion of philosophical topics related to lying, including the question of whether or not lying always involves an intention to deceive, the relationship between lies and "bullshit", and the significance of lying in contemporary political propaganda.
The Philosophy Department at the University of Sussex invites you to join us at the Friends Meeting House in Brighton for a free workshop on the philosophy of lying and deception, funded by The Royal Institute of Philosophy.
Join us to hear from and discuss this topic with our speakers:
- Corine Besson (Associate Professor of Philosophy, University of Sussex)
- Joanna Odrowąż-Sypniewska (Professor of Philosophy, University of Warsaw)
- Clive Webb (Professor of American History, University of Sussex)
- Daniel Molto (Assistant Professor of Philosophy, University of Sussex)
