Mini hack from Landecker Digital Memory Lab's Connective Holocaust Commemoration Expo 2025
Applications for ‘Making Visible and Connecting Sites of Non-Commemoration’, 4-8 May 2026, Novi Sad, Serbia are open: the first of our new Design Sprint series with our partner Terraforming (deadline 20 February).
We're bringing together 20-30 professionals from Holocaust-related heritage and education organisations, the creative digital and tech industries and academia (arts and humanities, social sciences, and computer sciences) to solve key issues in digital Holocaust memory, including:
- How can we connect disparate historical sites to tell stories about the past digitally?
- How can we use digital technologies to raise public awareness of Holocaust sites not yet marked with physical memorials?
- What might Holocaust memory look like in the digital future?
- How can digital media transform sites of non-commemoration into spaces for public memory?
- How might digital technologies offer solutions for telling difficult, sensitive and contested histories?
We’re particularly interested in hearing from tech and digital creative media professionals in the the Balkans region and have a limited number of paid places for them of 500 Euros per day. You are welcome to apply even if this region does not apply to you.
Our aim is that each design sprint will produce several prototypes that could be realised into full projects through co-submissions to funding grants.
Join us to create more collaborative, strategic and sustainable approaches to digital Holocaust memory by working across disciplines, borders and sectors.
