Research

Lara's research focuses on cross-border family law at both the regional and international level. In this area she is predominantly interested in the recovery of maintenance from abroad and the civil aspects child abduction. In the context of child abduction she is particularly interested in the case law of the ECtHR.

Thus far she has carried out extensive research on the 1980 Hague Convention on the civil aspects of Child Abduction, Brussels IIbis Regulation, the 2007 Hague Child Support Convention and Regulation 4/2009 on the recovery of Maintenance. Lara has also carried out empirical research to support her analytical research.

 PhD supervision is available in any area of international family law.
