Research

My PhD research examined how the fantastic as a literary mode may offer imaginative possibilities for expressing dissident sexualities and gender, via an author study of the contemporary British writer Jeanette Winterson. I have strong research interests in twentieth century and contemporary writing generally but in themes and debates on the politics of sexualities and literary form in particular. My wider research interests also include Critical Theory, Feminism, Cultural Studies, LGBT Literature, Trauma Literature, The Novel, Postmodernism.
