Centre for World Environmental History and the Activist and Academia Forum, University of Sussex invite you to the London launch of Gladson's recent book MISSION SARANDA
Saranda Forest in Eastern India is one of the only surviving Sal (Shora Robusta) forest in Asia. It is currently threatened with large scale mining which will destroy a pristine forest and the tribal communities living in and around it. Severe human rights violations by the state has brought violence and death to several protestors and activists at the hands of the Central Reserve Police Force. Gladson Dung Dung an indigenous activist writes brilliantly with first hand experience about his mission to save Saranda.
Please come and celebrate India’s disappearing tribal traditions and support the fight to save Saranda Forest by a remarkable activist.
