The University of Sussex offers a range of exciting routes into teaching in partnership with schools, colleges and nurseries across the South East. PGCE, School Choice PGCE, School Direct (Salaried) and Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship courses are available in a range of subjects and phases for a September 2026 start.
You could be eligible for a generous tax-free bursary of up to £31,000 or scholarship depending on your subject - or a training salary of £22,733.
Free, online individually tailored Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses are also available prior to training in eligible subjects: Chemistry, Computing, French, Latin, Maths, Physics, Religious Education and Spanish.
We also offer an innovative Early Years Education MA (with or without Early Years Teacher Status) at no cost to Home/Pre-settled or Settled EU students.
