Law Fair exhibitor terms and conditions

These are the terms and conditions for 2020.


Completing the booking form does not guarantee a place at the event. All vacancies being promoted at the fair must meet our code of practice. We may also be unable to accept your booking if the event is fully subscribed.

The booking fee is £350 +VAT. A reduced rate of £200 +VAT is offered for registered charities and Brighton and Sussex-based SMEs. The fee for recruitment agencies is £500 +VAT.

Your booking will be confirmed or otherwise with an email from us within five working days of you submitting the form. If you don’t hear by this time, contact Jocelyn Owen (Events and Marketing Manager) by emailing

Final joining instructions will be emailed to you at least two weeks before the event.


If you have to cancel your fair booking, let us know as soon as possible in writing by emailing

Cancellations received within 28 days of the event (on or after Wednesday 23 September 2020) will be charged at the full invoice amount. If you cancel before Wednesday 23 September 2020, you will not be charged.

Location of exhibition stands

We will allocate your stand location, but if you have a particular location preference, tell us and we will try to meet your requirements.

Display/exhibition area

Space is restricted and there is an absolute limit on the size of individual stands:

  • maximum width of stand: 3m
  • maximum depth of stand: 2m
  • maximum height of stand: 2.4m.

You should indicate your stand size (if known) on the booking form so that the organisers can plan the venue layout. The organisers reserve the right to refuse the erection of oversized stands.

Lunch and refreshments

Lunch and refreshments for four delegates are included in the booking fee. Additional refreshments/lunches will not be available on the day and must be pre-booked.

The final deadline for booking additional representatives for your stand will be Monday 12 October 2020. The additional delegate rate is £15 + VAT per person and will include refreshments throughout the day and lunch.

Marketing the fair

The Universities make every effort to promote the fair widely, but cannot guarantee student interest in all exhibitors. To maximise attendance at your stand, please ensure you provide us with full information on the booking form to allow us to target marketing, this includes uploading your vacancies (for free) to our jobs portal.


Delivery information, including dates and address, will be confirmed by the University of Sussex conference centre nearer the time. Please note there is limited storage available and delivered are only accepted between 9am and 5pm.

The University assumes no liability for loss or damage of exhibitors’ equipment. Exhibitors will be responsible for the removal of equipment and any materials/property used by them during the event. Any equipment to be collected more than one hour after the close of the event must be pre-arranged with the organisers.

Payment and invoicing

You will be invoiced by the University of Sussex following the Fair. Payments are to be made to the University of Sussex within 30 days of the date shown on the invoice. If the invoice should be sent to someone other than the person making the booking, it is essential you indicate this and give details when booking. Please ensure you provide the correct legal identity of your company for invoicing purposes. If you use purchase orders, please state the PO number on your booking form or confirm via email.
