e-Submission and e-Feedback

Sussex supports the electronic submission of work for contributory assessments via three routes:

  • Turnitin - students and tutors access Turnitin through Canvas
  • Canvas - work is submitted directly into Canvas and marked using the inbuilt Speedgrader functionality
  • Mahara - students submit e-portfolios from within Mahara; all marks and feedback are recorded in Sussex Direct

Known Issue: Using Turnitin with Safari web browser

If you see a ‘Turnitin error’ message when submitting or marking work with Safari, then you may need to adjust your cookie settings to complete the process. See the ‘How do I resolve problems with Safari and Canvas’ FAQ for instructions.

For assessments on 2017/18 modules and earlier

Please see E-submission and E-feedback (using Study Direct) for our staff and student guides using the system for assessments which took place on modules which started during the academic years (2014/15 to 2017/18)
