School PhD Scholarships in the Department of Business and Management (2016)
The Department of Business and Management are offering three research degree scholarships for a maximum of three years, renewable on a yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance on your degree. The award is only applicable for as long as you remain a student at the University of Sussex. No payment will be made if you temporarily withdraw (intermit) from your studies at any time.
The scholarships are available for UK/EU and overseas applicants.
You will receive a full fee waiver plus a stipend (currently £8,500 per annum) paid in three instalments in October, January and April. In addition, there may be opportunities for you to undertake teaching within the School for a maximum of six hours per week during term time. The payment for teaching the maximum number of hours is approximately £6,400.00 per annum at current rates, and will be paid on a monthly basis.
These scholarships are available in all areas of business and management, including: finance, accounting, marketing, international business, operations management, information systems, innovation and entrepreneurship, strategy, organisational behaviour/HRM, project management (please see the department website for further details of the research interests of faculty - http://www.sussex.ac.uk/bam/research).

Eligibility
Applicants should have an upper second class honours degree, and already have, or currently be studying for, a Master's degree in a related subject, or equivalent qualification if a non-UK applicant. A minimum merit pass is usually required for the Master's degree.
Proof of proficiency in English is also required, ie, an IELTS certificate taken within the last two years showing at least 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in each of the four sections.
