Sussexsport Boundary Run 2016
Staff from across campus gathered for the boundary run on Wednesday (25 May).
The run, which takes places each year, marks the end of Commit to Get Fit, Sussexsport's month-long fitness and wellbeing challenge for staff.
Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Stephen Shute opened the run, which left from the Sport Centre and covered the 2.5 mile boundary of campus.
Spectators gathered at Russell's Clump to cheer at the finish line.
Jonathan Pinder (Physics and Astronomy) completed the circuit in the quickest time - in 15 minutes and 40 seconds.
Research student Tomas Navickas finished second in the men's category, in 16 minutes and 32 seconds.
It was a sprint finish for men's third place, with Dean Spears from Housing Services completing the course in 16 minutes and 49 seconds.
Professor Gail Davey (BSMS) took first place in the women's category, with a finish time of 18 minutes and 16 seconds.
Dr Dinah Rajak (Anthropology, International Development) ran the course in 20 minutes and 8 seconds, to take women's second place.
Barbara Bassett (Academic Development & Quality Enhancement) secured third place in the women's category with a finish time of 22 minutes and 28 seconds.
