Biography
Since completing my education, MA(Cantab) MPhil DPhil(Oxon), I have spent most of career at Sussex, teaching and researching on American society and US foreign policy. Other roles have included the period 2002-2009 when I was Dean of Humanities. I have also spent several years on secondment the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, working as an analyst of US foreign policy, completing my most recent tour in the summer of 2014. I have recently completed a Leverhulme Trust Major Research Fellowship, awarded for a project on the relations between the United States and Emerging Powers.
