Biography
As well as being a Student Adviser, I am also a qualified Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and have my own private practice, seeing one to one clients on Thursdays and Fridays. I am also a facilitator of psychoeducational therapeutic groups and am currently training to work with couples and relationships.
Role
I'm a Student Adviser at BSMS and work Mondays to Wednesdays. I'm based in the Medical Teaching Building, the Watson Building on the Brighton campus and at home.
My role involves seeing medical students in one to one appointments about any issues that are having an effect on their studies, such as major life events, health conditions or financial and social worries. I also signpost to academic processes and reasonable adjustments around disability and learning differences.
I also facilitate peer support and personal and professional development groups.
