Motion Capture Systems - [eMove]

Following are eMove objectives

  • Real-time Animation streaming from eMove motion capture suit to gaming engines such as Panda3D, Unity3D, UnReal, Blender 3D and Scientific simulation software such as Siemens Jack software.
  • Design and implementation of Infrastructure for Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG) connected with eMove motion capture suit, where the users from different areas wearing eMove suit can play 3D real-time games and virtual meetings.
  • Audio, video, Animation and text data over UDP in real time on wide area networks (i.e. Virtual Private Networks based on Internet) for Motion capture application (eMove) and technology enhanced learning environments with Digital heritage libraries (DISPLAYS).
  • As a part of eMove project I am working different Lip-Sync and Animation technologies like: Motion Builder and Blender 3D that accepts BVH (Bio-Vision Hierarchy data) from a remote machine and feed it to a 3D avatar.

High performance computing environments 

Implementation of Grid based Render Farm solution at no cost for Blender 3D, 3Ds Max, and Maya, by utilizing idle computer cycles (CPU Scavenging) and discarded computer systems (Green use of computing).

  • A complete Render farm management system for Blender 3D that can be deployed inside blender as a toolbar.
  • Render farm solution for 3Ds Max that can be deployed in digital heritage applications and other applications that required collaborative modeling and rendering.
  • Render farm solution for Maya 3D that can be used in collaborative modeling environments.

PhD  - Digital heritage systems, Motion capture systems and Grid computing

Applying new technologies such as power of Grid computing (Grid based Render farms), top interaction technology like exo-skeleton based motion capture suits (eMove), and Audio, Video and text based communications (eMove Chat systems) inside digital heritage environment to facilitate both 3D modelers - the designers of digital heritage and remote visitors of virtual museums to build interactive digital heritage community. This framework coupled with example results will allow the end users to navigate through digital heritage world and interact with heritage objects. There can be number of benefits including virtual heritage tours, simmulations, real-time online multiplayer games and Massively Multiplayer Online Games - MMOGs, virtual meetings, collaborations, conferences, etc...

A propsed Service Oriented Architectures in preservation of heritage resources, allowing contents and knowledge to be produced, stored, managed, personalized, transmitted, preserved and used reliably, efficiently, at low cost and according to widely accepted standards. Currently, working on deploying such type of architecture and infrastructure for an ongoing project DISPLAYS - (Digital Library Service for Playing with virtual heritage objects) in Center for VLSI and Computer Graphics.
