Redistributed Manufacturing (RDM) is revolutionising production methods and is ideal for the Pharmaceutical Sector, which is particularly affected by long product development lead times and international supply chains. Additive Manufacturing allows for higher or even personalised dosages. It also offers the opportunity to combine several pills into one, making life much easier for patients who would otherwise have to take a variety of pills on a daily basis.

Research Areas

The overall theme of the group lies within two intersecting pillars: firstly, managing complex n-tier pharma and healthcare supply chains from a sustainability, risk and innovation perspective; and secondly, applying social and organizational theory lenses to study the adoption and the implications of technological and organizational innovations for pharmaceuticals and healthcare.

Our focus on the technological, and socio-organisational nature of innovation, sustainability, and risk within Pharma supply chains and healthcare systems has been reflected in publications in a wide variety of highly-ranked journals, including MIS Quarterly, Organization Studies, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, British Journal of Management, Social Science and Medicine, Sociology of Health and Illness, Research Policy, British Medical Journal, Organisation, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Business Ethics, and International Journal of Production Economics.
