Formula Student 2014

Sam FS Team Leader 2013-14  "Formula Student was a great opportunity for all involved to put into practise the engineering disciplines we  had been learning throughout our time at Sussex. In addition, this is a project which has a large emphasis on teamwork and overall goals, much like you will encounter in the engineering industry after university. As team leader for Mobil 1 Team Sussex 2014, I had the challenge of leading a team of 22 engineering students to achieve our overall goal; which was to participate in all dynamic events. The competitive aspect which comes with this project is what sets it aside from other academic projects within the university; as at the end of the year, you have the opportunity to test your creation against other university teams from around the world, at the world famous Silverstone circuit. This experience has proved a good steppingstone between academic work, and the engineering industry. This has provided my team and myself with the confidence we need to start our careers in our chosen disciplines." Sam Jewiss Team Leader 2013-14
