Rachel Olson


babyRachel holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex.  Her research focuses on Aboriginal midwifery, maternal health, and childbirth in First Nations communities. Rachel is a citizen of the Tr’ondek Hwech’in First Nation from Yukon, Canada.  Rachel is a Director of the Firelight Group Research Cooperative and has been conducting research in First Nation communities since 1998, working on various projects, from oral history, traditional land use and traditional knowledge to First Nations health issues.
