Industry Brief (P3079)

Spring teaching

This module is organised around a live project brief, which will be devised and introduced by professionals from the cultural and creative industries. You will be work in teams to respond to the brief and prepare a pitch, with pilot material, to present to the client.

You will be guided and supported towards realising outcomes, via a series of workshops. You will learn how to:

  • understand an industry brief
  • develop and implement strategies for successful team working
  • learn and employ skills for effective communication with clients
  • creatively prepare and pitch impactfully to a client.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 15 hours of contact time and about 135 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2023/24. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
