Quantum Mechanics 2 (F3225)

Spring teaching

This is a second course on quantum mechanics. It employs the Dirac notation and algebraic methods (eg. for spin and the harmonic oscillator). It introduces basic approximation methods, such as perturbation theory and WKB. It discusses scattering theory.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 117 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
