Quantitative Analysis in International Education (804X3)

Spring teaching

You’ll be introduced to the use of quantitative techniques in the field of international education. You’ll have a particular focus on:

  • available data sources for the Global South
  • the use of analytical concepts and research methods to enhance your analysis of key issues in the international educational field.

You’ll develop quantitative research skills to prepare for further research, linking techniques with contemporary international education and development policy agendas, including the Sustainable Development Goals.

You will critically analyse and engage with educational data as used in the international education context.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 267 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2023/24.
