In this months edition we the book is 'Sky Full of Elephants' by Cebo Campbell.
Sky Full of Elephants by Cebo Campbell is a 2024 novel that imagines a radically altered United States where all White people suddenly vanish in a mysterious, cataclysmic event.
A year later, Charlie Brunton - a Black man who was wrongfully imprisoned - has rebuilt his life as a professor at Howard University when he’s contacted by Sidney, his nineteen‑year‑old daughter whom he’s never met.
Together they embark on a journey through this post‑racial America, confronting both personal trauma and the challenges of shaping identity, community and meaning in a world without White people.
The book blends speculative thought with deep reflections on race, healing, connection, and self‑actualization.
